My Current TBR
Everything I’m excited to read next
My TBR pile is stacked and I can’t wait to dig in! This was a great few weeks of gathering books. My mom was here and we picked up a few books at my favorite Books are Magic, a few of my library kindle books came in through The BPL, my PaperBackSwap books arrived, and I spotted something at Target on sale.
Starting with my kindle and my library books, I have two romances/rom coms, that finally came in. Funny You Should Ask by Elissa Sussman and The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas. I’m all set for some spicy summer reads.
Next my mom was in town and “insisted” on buying me some books at Books are Magic, who was I to argue! I picked up Rogues by Patrick Radden Keefe, The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager, and In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware. Riley Sager and Ruth Ware are two of my favorite mystery/thriller authors, so I’m excited for more twists and turns. As my mom referred to it, I got more “murder” books.
Because I can’t stay away, I popped into Books Are Magic again a few days later and saw paperback versions of My Killer Vacation by Tessa Bailey to add to my romance list. I only discovered her last month and have become such a fan. Her books are spicy and escapist. This one combines romance and mystery, so it’s right up my alley.
My PaperBackSwap books arrived and I was really happy with the quality. You can read my full review here, but I am enjoying the “swaping” process. I got The Orchid Thief by Susan Orlean and Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng.
Finally, as I was meandering through Target as one does on a weekend, I found myself in the book section. It was here a few months ago I found Every Summer After, which turned into one of my top books of 2022. I spotted Taste by Stanley Tucci on sale and had to pick it up. I love Stanley Tucci, from The Devil Wears Prada to his Negroni reel on instagram, he brings me so much joy. A friend of mine even said that the book has recipes mixed in, so I knew I needed a physical copy. Hopefully I’ll be whipping up some good Italian meals while making my way through the book.
